Reed pleads guilty

A VALE man who is Charlotte Church's uncle appeared in Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, and admitted four sex attacks on girls.

Ralph Reed, aged 37, of Murland Way, Rhoose, was ordered to register as a sex offender after he admitted indecently assaulting two young girls.

Cardiff Crown Court heard Reed carried out the four indecent assaults between January 1999 and January 2001 on the girls, who were aged nine and 12 at the time.

Sentencing was adjourned for psychological reports until next month, and Reed was released on bail.

Window cleaner Reed is the younger brother of Charlotte Church's natural father Stephen Reed.

He split with Charlotte's mother Maria when the singer was 18 months old. Maria later married James Church and he officially adopted Charlotte.
