Readers' kindness to Ethan!

A TODDLER will be getting a new set of wheels thanks to the generosity of people throughout Barry and the Vale.

Little Ethan Herbert's mum Vicky appealed to the public through the Barry and District News recently, asking people to contribute to her son's wheelchair fund.

Ethan, who is two-and-a-half, suffers from a form of cerebral palsy which has severely affected his development.

The youngster cannot walk yet, only shuffle around on his bottom. This has caused problems since he started attending playgroup, as the other children treat him like a baby.

But now Ethan will be able to move around easily in his specially adapted Minny wheelchair, thanks to contributions from: The Rotary Club of Barry, Iceland supermarket, Peter Alan Estate Agents of Barry, Virgin Cosmetics, Rachel Cotty of Barry, Mrs M Thorogood of Wenvoe, Mrs M Bacon of Barry, Harry and Ian Sinclair of Rhoose, Mrs D M Booker, Mr Whiting of Barry and E Williams of Barry.

Vicky was completely overwhelmed by the response to her appeal.

The mum-of-three said: "I am very grateful to everyone for being so kind.

"I was shocked when I walked into Iceland and saw buckets on the tills with Ethan's picture on them!"
