CARDIFF County and Vale of Glamorgan U-13s finished their season with two fine victories against Mid Wales and Mid Glamorgan.
On a gloriously sunny day at Rhayader, Cardiff won the toss and elected to bat, reaching 209 for 4 in their allotted overs. Skipper Freddie John made a magnificent 95 not out, supported well by Chris Lawlor with 31.
Cardiff bowled and fielded well, dismissing Mid Wales for 153, with Arwel Jones taking 4 wickets for 32 runs and Shae Ellis 3 for 5.
A home fixture at Cowbridge against Mid Glam was the last game of the season and again Cardiff won the toss and this time put their opponents in to bat.
Mid Glam scored 176 for 6 off their 40 overs. In reply, Chris Lawlor and Freddie John shared their fourth 100-run partnership of the season until Chris was out in the 25th over for 58, still leaving Cardiff with 69 runs to win.
Freddie went on to make 67 not out, supported by Shae Ellis (17), and steered his side to victory with a couple of overs to spare.
A fine end to a most enjoyable season.
