THE Barry branch of the Royal British Legion held a commemorative service at the Memorial Hall on Sunday, to mark the anniversary of VJ Day, and the end of World War II.
In attendance were Barry Mayor Theo Stenstrom and Vale Mayor Margaret Alexander, both of whom laid wreaths at the foot of the cenotaph.
Also present were members of the Far East Veterans Association and members of the public, who turned out to pay their respects to those who lost their lives.
