Cash for Jamie fund

MORE then 1,000 was raised by a fundraising group who performed their final gig in Barry.

The Killer Girls performed at KRs on Barry Island - and on top of the money they raised themselves, KRs donated cheque for 500 as well, making a grand total of 1,077.

And all the money has gone to the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund.

This means the fund, which was set up by the Barry and District News with Paul and Nicola Adamson in memory of their son Jamie, who died at the age of five from leukaemia, has now reached a staggering 9,100!

And it is hoped that this will double - and more - over the next few months.

Paul Adamson said: "I'd like to thank all the Killer girls and also KRs for their generosity."

Gerry Western, who has now retired along with the rest of the Killer Girls, thanked the people of Barry for their support.
