A BARRY woman will take audiences on a fun-filled ride back to the roaring 1920s as part of the cast of West End musical Thoroughly Modern Millie - now showing at the Wales Millennium Centre.
Lauren Adams, 28, of Barry Island, will make her first appearance in a musical.
She plays Gloria, one of Millie's friends, as well as understudying the role of Mrs Meeks, the villainess of the piece, played by Lesley Joseph, who is best known as Dorian in Birds of a Feather.
Thoroughly Modern Millie runs until August 20.
Lauren studied ballet as a teenager until injury stopped her, after which she studied singing.
Her life changed four years ago after she won a singing competition on Tricia Goddard's Tricia show.
She swapped her job as a customer services manager for the role of Snow White in the Christmas panto at the New Theatre.
Since then, she has been performing on cruise shops around the world but also, for the last two years at Christmas, in panto at the Grand Pavilion Porthcawl.
Laura Clements, 23, from Penarth, also features in the production.
Working on Thoroughly Modern Millie is not the first time Lauren and Laura have been on stage together.
They both performed as teenagers with Orbit Theatre, one of South Wales' premier amateur dramatic companies.
