THERE was a very important grading date for the students of the Welsh Academy of Martial Arts - where all five graded for their First Degree Black Belts.
After a five-hour session, all five students graded with excellent A and A- results.
These students are all exceptional martial artists, four of whom have competed internationally.
Christopher Brown qualified to compete in the World Kickboxing Championships which were held in Vienna, and has taken part in international tournaments from the age of seven. James and Jordan Sheekey, who are brothers, and Christopher Short and Christopher Brown were competitors in the recent Irish Open.
The Welsh Academy of Martial Arts is hoping to raise funds for those who have qualified to represent Wales in the forthcoming World Champion-ships, to be held in Canada in November this year.
Christopher Brown and Jordan and James Sheekey, Christopher Short and Hannah Harvey are all members of Team Wales, and travel far and wide to compete for their country. The club says they are a credit to their community, parents and instructors.
