THE parents of skating champion Richard Taylor, who died in a tragic accident last year, have launched a charity wristband to help raise money to improve a Barry skate park.
John and Gaynor Taylor want to see the Knap skate park redesigned and upgraded as a lasting memorial to their talented son.
Richard campaigned to have the skate park built in 1996 and used to practice on it daily.
The family hopes that the wristband, emblazoned with Richard's catchphrase'It's All Good', will raise up to 25,000.
Around 10,000 wristbands have already been made and will be sold at 3 each.
Some of the bands have been sent around the world to fellow members of the skating community.
Despite concerns about groups of youths hanging about in one area, research from Wales has shown that the introduction of a skating ramp in a town can help to reduce anti-social behaviour by as much as 60 per cent.
