Sleepathon in school

BARRY Comprehensive School pupils continued to support the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund with another unusual fundraiser - a sponsored sleepathon!

This annual event is a favourite with pupils who collect 2,000 in sponsorship pledges in return for the privilege of spending the whole night in school.

The 140 pupils, chaperoned by volunteer teaching staff, spent the evening playing sports, taking part in quizzes and watching DVDs, before eating a supper provided by the school.

The Learning Resource Centre doubled as a dormitory for the night.

The boys were provided with breakfast on the Saturday morning, to which their parents were also invited.

The school is grateful to those who took part and also to COS, D and G Wholesale and Tesco for their continued support.
