Runners unite to raise money

SEVEN runners have joined forces to raise money for the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund.

Paul Adamson - Jamie's dad who set up the fund with the Barry and District News in memory of his son who died of leukaemia at the age of five - and Ceri Binding have already run the London Marathon this year.

And they will also be running the Cardiff Marathon in October along with five other supporters. Paul and Ceri will also run the Great North Run.

So far the fund stands at 7,500 - but Paul hopes to more than double that by the end of the year.

They seven runners have called themselves the Jamie Adamson Memorial Running Club.

Leon Squires is running because he saw the articles about Paul and Ceri raising money for the fund and he wanted to help.

Dawn Martin, of Barry, has a daughter who survived leukaemia and wants to raise money to help other families in the same situation.

Kay Richmond was Jamie's social worker during his illness and has raised money before for charity.
