Father is accused of killing

THE father of a man from Barry who died while on holiday in South Africa is to face a court, accused of killing his son.

Lee Giles, a 27-year-old who was born in South Africa but lived in Barry, was visiting his family in Witbank when he is believed to have been stabbed on June 25.

His father Stephen Giles is a British National, but now lives permanently in South Africa. Lee was a warehouse assistant for Phillip Saunders Cash and Carry.

Lee, who was estranged from his wife, worked for the company for 18 months.

He moved to Barry from Witbank when he was 17.

Last week the Barry and District News reported the death and tributes were paid to the well-liked young man by family and colleagues.

The case will be heard in South Africa on Wednesday, July 20.
