Police look into death

POLICE in South Africa are investigating the death of a 27-year-old Barry man, who died while on holiday in the country visiting his family.

Lee Giles came to Barry from Whit-bank in South Africa when he was 17. He married in September last year to Jo, but was estranged from his wife.

The Foreign Office confirmed that a British national died in Whitbank on the weekend, and that a second British national has been arrested by police in connection with his death.

Mr Giles' aunt Deborah Frears, of Cumbria, said: "He died in a tragic accident on the weekend.

"He was a lovely lad, and will be sorely missed

"His family will bury Lee in Whitbank this Friday."

Lee was a warehouse assistant for Phillip Saunders cash and carry, formerly based in Barry. He moved to their office in Rhydyfelin, near Pontypridd, when they left the town.
