AS the Chairman of the Rhoose Village Preservation Group, I would like to say thank you to everyone who joined the demonstration on Sunday.
The visit to the site, between the new rail interchange and the coast, showed the gap between what has been promised and what has been delivered - the rail interchange was to be just one item of planning gain from the Rhoose Point estate.
The playing field, changing rooms, golf course, golf club house, pub and nature reception centre all promised for Rhoose Point have not been started or have been quietly abandoned.
The changing rooms and nature reception centre would be paid for by Cofton Ltd, the company that developed Rhoose Point.
A legal agreement between Cofton and the council states that Cofton must provide £75,000, index linked since 1996, towards the cost.
The council must hold the developers to their promises and get all the planning gain from Rhoose Point.
