Fundraiser

MY name Is Jessie Brooks and I am 14 years old.

I am writing to you today to inform you of what I believe is a very important issue.

Heart and circulatory disease is the largest killer in the United Kingdom and every two minutes, someone somewhere in the UK suffers from a heart attack - half of which are fatal.

It is horrifying to discover that a women is four times more likely to die of heart disease than she is of breast cancer.

I plan to help in the most effective way I can by raising as much money as possible.

I plan to participate once again this year in the British Heart Foundation Cardiff Bay Jog on June 8, and am currently searching for sponsors. So far I"ve been able to raise just over £70 and that"s just from my school friends - I haven"t started on the family yet.

I have a personal reason for helping this year more than ever. Last year my family lost my 17-year-old cousin to heart failure.

I"m only just beginning to understand the complications involved in heart conditions and its made me determined to help.

I wouldn"t want anyone to go through what our family has gone through, watching someone they love get weaker and eventually lose the fight.

I"m desperate to draw attention to this important issue, to make people realise that they too can make a difference.

I hope you will help me in my attempt to raise as much money as possible.
