'Sick' thieves steal rabbits

A MUM has branded thieves who stole her five-year-old son's rabbits'sick' after they took the pets from their hutch.

Kae had asked for the pets for his birthday just four weeks ago.

Gizmo and Thumper, French Dwarf Lop Eared rabbits, were only ten weeks old and were stolen on Friday night.

Kae's mum Alex Smith, of Claude Road West, said: "He asked especially for the rabbits and loved looking after them. It is terrible that they have taken them from him. They must be sick to take them from a five-year-old boy.

"How could they do that to him? It is not as if they were worth a lot of money. We know it wasn't a fox because there was no sign the rabbits were attacked.

"There is a lane at the side of the house, so they must have got over at that point.

"I hope the people who stole the rabbits will look after them. Kae thinks they will bring them back. I hope they will be shamed into giving the pets back."

Kae and his dad Gavin built the hutch together.

His brother Tyler, aged 10, and sister Louise, aged 12, have made a poster to put up around the area.

Kae said: "Last week we washed them. I held Gizmo and Thumper but he scratched me. I called him Thumper because he has big feet."
