A QUIZ night with a difference started an action-packed weekend for the juniors at Dinas Powys Lawn Tennis Club.
Thanks to "Dad" Owain Thomas, 90 parents and friends enjoyed an action-packed evening of fun.
Not only were they tested on their knowledge, but also on their ability to design an aeroplane and to sing in tune.
Jane Croft won with her aerodynamic design and the musical award went to Cath Scott for her rendition of I Can"t Help Falling in Love with You.
Despite grey skies on Saturday morning, the juniors" annual coffee morning raised an £300 which will be used to entertain visiting sick children from Chernobyl.
Sunday saw blue skies and 50 juniors participating in the Dorothy Isaacs singles tournament.
From 10am until 4pm competitors from the age of six to 18 gave a display of their tennis skills.
Vice-president Margaret Hayley then presented the trophies to the winners:
Girls Ten and Under - winner Chloe Eva, runner-up Leah Cunningham Boys Ten and Under - winner Tim Harry, runner-up Alex Baston. Girls 14 and Under - winner Saffiah Azeez, runner-up Alex Dunlop. Boys 14 and Under - winner Huw Davies, runner-up Rowan Davies. Girls 18 and Under - winner Claire Bevan, runner-up Amelia Beer. Boys 18 and Under - winner Michael Hooper, runner-up Richard Farnham.
Another exciting weekend is promised with a Play Tennis/Fun Day on Sunday, May 1 from 2pm to 5pm.
To complete the weekend, on Monday, May 2, the club will be hosting a Robinsons Aces event for the ten and under age group.
