Pub's auction pays off

A CHARITY event for the Jamie Adamson Memorial fund raised more than 2,500.

Wayne Takata, who runs The Old Paget Inn on Barry Island, asked local businesses to donate prizes for the charity event.

He said: "I got involved with the charity because our son has been involved with Latch. As soon as we saw the article in the paper we wanted to do a charity event. We have spent a lot time in hospital with our son." Mountain bikes, a hair cut, a television and more was available to purchase. More than 70 people attended the event and they managed to raise 2,500 from the lots.
