New gates

I HAVE been approached by a number of residents living in the Cadoxton area complaining about the alley gates being placed on the path leading from Main Street (at rear of the Royal Hotel) and the top of the steps at Kenilworth Road.

For about 40 years I have regularly used this path to travel to and from work, and people who live in the streets off Kenilworth Road and use this path to shop in Main Street have now been denied access to this shortcut.

Although there may have been consultation with some of the residents living in Main Street, surely the fact that alley gates were going to be placed where they are now - and not at both ends of Main Street lane - should have been advertised, so that any objections could have been raised.
