Join in the fastest-growing sport

BARRY Yacht Club, who last year bought three Pembroke/Celtic Sea Rowing long boats, are holding an'Introduction to Rowing' day on Saturday, April 16.

Members of the Sea Rowing section will be on hand during the day, to introduce you to the boats and get you out rowing.

No previous experience is required.

Sea rowing is arguably the fastest-growing sport in Wales and around the coast of England and France.

The Barry boats are 22ft overall, rowing with four oars and a cox. Built of glass fibre with carbon fibre oars, the boats are very easily rowed.

You can row just to keep fit, or be involved in league racing events, or be part of a regular team - the choice is yours.

Barry Yacht Club last year completed a major redevelopment and can now offer first-class facilities not only for rowing, but opportunities to sail or crew on members' boats.

In June, the Club will be offering an invitation to sail.

You can register for either event by contacting Roger Donkin on 01446 733381.
