Duo set for marathon

AFTER months of training, Paul Adamson and Ceri Binding's marathon challenge has arrived.

The pair will be raising money for the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund, set up by the Barry and District News, this Sunday when they run the Flora London Marathon.

The fund is in memory of Jamie, who died at the age of five from leukaemia, and Jamie's dad Paul and his friend Ceri will be wearing vests with pictures of Jamie on for their run.

Ceri's shirt bears the words "Running in memory of my friend Jamie", and Paul's says "Runnng in memory of my son Jamie, for his brother Sam and his mum Nicola".

They will also be flying the Welsh flag when they see a TV camera.

They are heading to London on Saturday, after Paul has watched son Sam play for Barry Athletic in a cup final at Jenner Park.

Paul will be wearing number 36662 and Ceri will be wearing 36677 - so look out for them.

They want to cross the line together and finish the mara-thon in four hours 45 minutes.

* In a fundraiser at the Old Paget Inn last week Wane Takata raised 2,500 for the fund. Full details in the Barry and District News next week.
