New cricket club to represent Barry in upcoming season

A NEW cricket club Barry Strollers has been formed in time for the start of the new season.

The club will play Sunday friendly fixtures on grounds within a 20 mile radius of Barry, providing cricket for older club players and young cricketers in the 15-20 age group.

Fixtures have been arranged against all the leading club sides and will be time matches from 2.30pm to 7.45pm, hopefully teaching players to build an innings without having to sorry about restricted overs as in league and cup games.

Members can play as many or as few games as they want.

There is no annual subscription, only a small match fee on the day to cover teas and travelling expenses.

Past and present cricketers are welcome. Anyone interested in joining should contact Club Chairman Bob Clark on 029 2070 9490, or Player Secretary Dave Fiddler on 01446 404738.
