A MUM whose son died at seven days has slammed the heartless'low-life' who stole toys from his graveside
Quaid Horsell died three years ago when he was just a week old, and his mum Natalie, of Crossways Street, has been putting toys and gifts on the grave since then.
This is the second time thieves have taken gifts from the plot at Barry Cemetery.
Natalie, aged 31, said: "It seems that people cannot keep their hands in their pockets.
"My son was only a baby when he passed away, so my family and I like to buy him Dinky Cars and small toys to place on his grave.
"This gives us comfort and we also buy him special presents at birthdays and Christmas just as if he were here with us."
Natalie, who now has a 17-month-old daughter Izabella, added: "For the second time in two and half years some low-life has stolen all his cars and toys.
"I assume this is the act of someone who is not a parent - because I cannot imagine any child visiting the cemetery being allowed to take something from a grave when they are visiting.
"Surely the people who took these things did not need them. So why did they do it?
"I hope they sleep well at night. The sad thing is they probably do."
Barry Town Council has responsibility for the cemetery.
Assistant Chief Executive, Cliff Lewis, said: "We have not removed any toys.
"If we think a family has put items outside their area we will write three letters to ask them to remove it, but this is not the case on this occasion.
"It may have been children who visit the graveyard with their parents.
