Social crisis

I READ with interest about the fight by local residents to save Dow Corning Social Club. To shut it would be another nail in the social calendar coffin.

What is it about Cadoxton Moors that makes it bottom of the list for facilities?

We are good enough to be surrounded by smelly factories, hideous blue 'tin shed' factory units and car showrooms, with 1,000 plus cars an hour going past our homes, but when it comes to facilities we are sadly lacking.

Where is the floodlit play area for our youngsters that the Colcot, Gibbonsdown and even Belvedere Crescent have?

Our only post office is set to close, affecting all our OAPs who will now have to struggle on and off buses to get to town to collect their cash.

Now the social life of many locals who enjoyed a game of skittles, darts, crib, etc, will disappear.

Come on councillors, Dow Corning needs your permission to expand ever further.

Put up a fight for us. We pay our taxes the same as the rest of the townsfolk.

Show us that we are not the second class citizens we seem destined to be.
