Promenade

WHEN are the council going to re-erect the entrance to the promenade at Barry Island?

I was told that it was taken away to be re-painted and to repair the ravages of salt water spray, and when this had been done, it would be re-erected.

The weather vane on the Promenade Square is also in need of attention, a little bit of grease on its moving parts might help it spin and give wind direction, and a lick of paint would improve its appearance.

The compass mosaic on which it stands is still in fairly good order, but it doesn"t mean anything unless the vane is turning.

As the other mosaics on the Square are now so badly damaged that further damage would not be noticeable, why not invite local radio stations to the Island, and use it to enable them to put on their road shows which used to attract many thousands of visitors to the Island?
