SATURDAY, MARCH 19
SOUTH WALES SENIOR LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
SULLY SPORTS 6 CWMBACH 2
IN perfect conditions, a Sports team hit badly by injuries led after ten minutes when Anthony Ferguson drove home a low shot from ten yards.
It was all Sully as further strikes from Calvin McClaggon and Ferguson again pinned back the Aberdare team.
Cwmbach had no answer to Sports' attacking play and Elliot Palmer finished superbly for the fourth and Les Harrington blasted in the fifth as Cwmbach were stunned.
The second half started with the visitors fighting back and they were rewarded as Sports conceded a penalty and Cwmbach converted well.
Sports had a patchy period when nothing went right and Cwmbach further reduced the lead.
A Sports team struggling against injuries started to get back into the game and good play led to a corner from which Mark Brown headed into the corner of the net.
Sully had done enough with their first half showing and gained the win, which takes them up to second place.
Bobby Brown excelled again at the heart of a good defence.
The team has a long break now until they entertain championship favourites Bridgend Street in three weeks time.
VALE OF GLAMORGAN LEAGUE DOCKER CUP
SULLY SPORTS 1 VALE UTD 1
(5-6) ON PENALTIES
THE Vets put up a decent show but the game was destined for penalties, as the teams squanderd good chances to win the game.
With both teams missing about 50 percent of the penalties it was the Vale who scored the deciding penalty to go through to the next round.
