Stabbing, then fall horror

A BARRY man is believed to have thrown himself off a multi-storey car park in the town centre on Monday afternoon after stabbing his ex-partner and her 11-year-old son.

Both the boy and his 31-year-old mother were taken to University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where they were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police were called to an address in St Andrew's Road at around 1.15pm on Monday where they found the boy and his mother.

An hour later a 29-year-old man was found on the pavement of Court Road after falling from the third floor of the car park. Police are linking the two incidents

Police and ambulance crews were on the scene within minutes. The man was initially treated by doctors from nearby Holton Road surgery and was then taken to hospital where he is still in a critical condition.

An eye witness who did not wish to be named said: "It looked like he had stabbed himself before he went over as he was bleeding heavily from the stomach."

Both the house and multi-storey car park were sealed off while detectives and forensic experts carried out tests.

A St Andrew's Road neighbour, who also wished to remain anonymous, said: "They had been together for about eight years but split up recently while the boy was away in America with his grandparents.

"She had moved in with her parents. The boy had come around to collect some sports gear, which he had left in the house, when the incident happened.
