Football fan

THE council - who are they? Ah yes, people elected by the ratepayers to represent them and promote their interests and the area in which they live.

Well we are ratepayers, we live in Barry, and in this particular case our interest is a sporting one - namely a football club which has brought great prestige to the town by promoting it and putting it on the map in Europe.

Having travelled with them I - unlike these apparently faceless beaurocrats - have first-hand knowledge of the club.

Yes, debts do have to be honoured by the club.

But what about the debt our beloved council owes to the club for such an advert - a lot more than the current absurd valuation I would suggest.

Convenient amnesia or what?
