Lifeboats

THE people of Great Britain have shown how generous they can be, following the recent tsunami disaster.

This will always be on our minds for many years to come - but we ask that you do not forget the many charities that depend on your support at home.

The RNLI Lifeboats are one.

Just to provide and maintain the level of last year's service we will require £130 million this year.

This we raise from your donations, from legacies and from the dedicated fundraising teams around our shores.

As an indication, to replace a lifeboat is in excess of £1 million, and the average cost of each call out is £7,000.

After the tsunami disaster everyone came together raising money for the appeal with fun runs, quizzes, collections etc. Could you do the same to help us or perhaps by joining us at one of our fun fundraising events?

In the next few months we have organised a skittle evening on February 26, a horse race/fish and chip evening on April 15 and a sponsored walk in June.

For further details, please call Phil or Jenny office hours on 01446 720000.

Every penny counts - we receive no outside assistance other than your generosity.
