The Village

CLEVER director M Night Shyamalan will find it hard to beat his top-scoring film The Sixth Sense, but The Village is just as well thought out.

Unlike its predecessor, The Village doesn't allow you to think through what's going on.

Staged in a small settlement in the middle of menacing woods, thanks to an uncomfortable truce the villagers live alongside terrifying, hooded beasts who prowl among the trees.

But when the border between the two areas is violated there is an underlying fear threatening the harmony of the village.

And when one of the younger members, Lucius is hurt, it's down to his betrothed Ivy - a sweet girl who was blinded at a young age - to get to the'towns' and pick up medical supplies to save his life.

To do that she has to cross through the woods, and that's where the secret twist in this movie lies.

The Village is only a 12 certificate but the plot is suspense-filled. It may be a little confusing and too spooky for some younger viewers.
