Barry fencer picks up a gold medal

BARRY fencer Susan Dodd picked up another Welsh medal at the weekend - and this time it was gold.

Last week she finished third in the Welsh youth under-16 foil competition, but at the Welsh Institute of Sport on Sunday she was part of the winning Cardiff women's team in the Welsh team foil championship.

The Cardiff team were unbeaten throughout the tournament and won the Welsh title ahead of Gwent and Swansea.

The men's title went to Pembroke.
