Phone risks

THE HEADMASTER of Bryn Hafren School, Phil Whitcombe, makes an unsustainable assumption that we all use (or own) mobile, telephones (Barry & District News, December 16, page 3). We do not. He is correct about the health risks from masts, but what about the health risks to himself and his pupils from the telephones themselves?

It is well documented that they (and the masts) pose a risk from low level radiation.

Personally, I regard them as both a health risk and a threat to qualify of life; professionally, I have for long period of my life been on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and at my present stage in my life I want the telephone to be a servant, not a means to give me servitude for life, with calls day and night, and also affecting my physical health. In many cases, they are an unnecessary nuisance.
