Sully bogged down in sand

PANT YR AWEL 1

SULLY SPORTS 1

SULLY Sports travelled to the Garw Valley for this South Wales Senior League Division One match and found a pitch covered in tons of sand which hampered attempts to play constructive football.

With a full squad available the team that played so well against Cogan started brightly with the back four again in good trim.

Sports pushed forward with Ferguson and Lewis prominent and gained the upper hand only to concede a soft opening goal when a corner was not cleared.

The second half saw Sports dominating their bogey team and from a fine move involving Lewis and McLaggon, Anthony Ferguson grabbed the equaliser.

Craig Ryan was desperately unlucky to see his 25 yard shot rebound from the bar and Sports had to settle for a draw.

This Saturday Sports are home to Stanleytown at Swanbridge, players to report at 1.15pm prompt.

Sully's consolation goal was scored by Drew Fahiya who headed home a perfect cross at the far post. Ashley Hart was outstanding in goal and the whole team can be proud of their efforts.

In the Youth League Sports overcame a spirited Llantristant team when Drew Fahiya notched six goals to bring his season's total to 34, and Nicky Cheung and Tom Dalton notched one each.

STARS 1
