High Fares

LAST week my husband Stan and I wanted to go down to High Street, so we waited for a bus in Holton Road. We didn't have to wait long when a Shamrock 304 came along. A lady got on in front of us, I heard her talking to the driver but didn't quite catch the conversation but she got a bit upset and got off the bus.

When myself and my husband, boarded the bus I asked for two singles to Broad Street and the driver said it was one pound forty five pence single fare, I asked if he was sure and he showed us the fare on a calculator. Needless to say we both got off the bus and waited for a Cardiff bus - they only charge eighty five pence.

I'd often wondered why the Shamrock buses hardly had any passengers - now I know the answer.
