WALES has a new national building, which cost 104 million to construct and is destined to attract millions of visitors to Cardiff.
The Millennium Centre was built to showcase the talent of Wales and draw stars to the Welsh capital as well. It has taken four years for the concept to become reality but what do the people of Barry think of the new venture?
Susan Morgan lived in Barry most of her life and but left Lower Pike Street to live in Bridlington.
She said: "It is not a good idea for Cardiff and Wales because the money should have been spent on worthwhile causes. They should be putting the money in to Barry or other places not in to a centre like that.
Dad Ian Quick, 21, of the Cold Knap said: "It is a waste of money - why did they use millions to build it? I will not be going to anything there.
"That sort of money could be used to bring waiting lists down on the NHS.
"We already have the Millennium Stadium for concerts and other events so why do we need another venue."
