LOCAL boxers produced a memorable performance when Barry Eastend ABC produced a hat-trick of wins at Ferndale ABC.
Richard Canning, boxing Lewis Earls, of Ferndale, scored heavily with good combinations to the head and body in round one, forcing Lewis on to the ropes.
Lewis had limited success in the second round, but in the final round, as both boxers tired, Richard caught his southpaw opponent with a right cross to the head, to clinch a unanimous decision.
Schoolboy Ricky Woodman met Matthew Reeves, of Gwynfi ABC, and stopped him with a series of good, straight punches at the end of round one.
The referee called in the doctor to examine damage to Matthews' nose. Aaron Davies fought a youth match against Matthew Evans, of Ferndale, forcing the pace from the first round.
Evans was given a standing count and this proved to be his wake-up call. The second round saw both boxers throwing punches as the bell sounded.
Aaron won the bout by a unanimous decision, and, as well as this being voted the best fight of the night, Aaron received the trophy as best boxer of the night.
