DVD Review - The day after tomorrow

THE DAY After Tomorrow is a highly topical action thriller with a stiff moral message behind it - global warning is coming.

Climatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) tries to figure out a way to save the world from abrupt global warming. But more importantly, he's trying get to his young son who is stuck in a chilly in New York - a city being taken over by a new ice age.

Hall believes global warming problems ignored in the past will possibly killing the human race in between 100 and 1,000 years time.

Naturally his pleas to international delegates fall on deaf ears.

The Day After Tomorrow was a box office smash primarily for its landmark special effects, haunting score and cinematography.

But it's a pretty typical Hollywood screenplay that really does nothing new or innovative and doesn't give the actors much room to stretch themselves.
