Pitch ruin

ON October 16, there were no football games at the Buttrills playing fields due. I imagine to the soft condition of the ground.

Four youths on motorbikes appeared about 3pm and proceeded to scribe circles in the pitches.

On Sunday afternoon, four young children were riding round on scramblers watched by their doting fathers who also had a turn carving up the fields.

These were eventually stopped by the police, who just warned them off. Surely there are means by which the council can protect their playing surfaces from these people?
