It's shocking

FOLLOWING the automatic disqualification of a Labour councillor in Gibbonsdown, I was astonished to learn that Labour has blamed Plaid Cymru for the by-election!

It was local people, angered by Labour's disregard for local residents, who called the by-election. I should know - I was one of the people who signed a petition calling for it. Had Plaid Cymru not helped us to call it, the Labour party had already admitted that it would have used its majority on the town council to co-opt the same candidate back on to the council instead of holding an election.

However, now that they are faced with a democratic contest, their candidate has suddenly been dropped for someone else. Labour's treatment of the people of Gibbonsdown and Colcot is shocking and I intend to let them know what I think of their arrogance at the ballot box on October 21.
