Three of a Kind

CHART-topping hip-hop band 'Three of a Kind' and teen sensation 'Dragonheart' are coming to Barry in a bid to keep kids off the streets on the busiest night of the policing calendar.

Halloween is a nightmare for the elderly, who feel threatened by 'trick or treat' callers and large groups of youths parading the street.

So organisers of the Vibe Experience are bringing the groups to Barry Leisure Centre on Sunday, October 31, kicking off just after the doors open at 7pm.

'Three of a Kind' went to number one with their debut single Babycakes, knocking Busted off the top spot. And the charming members of Dragonheart have been firm favourites with teenagers in Barry after coming to the Waterfront Weekender in September.

And now they are both set to play the Barry Leisure Centre - for one night only! Organised by VIBE Experience, based in the Area 41 Youth Facility, Holton Road, the evening is part of their programme to offer creative facilities for young people. VIBE also organise music workshops in decks, MC-ing, vocals and sound studio techniques.

Mike Bendell, from VIBE Experience, says: "We are delighted that 'Three of A Kind' and 'Dragonheart' have agreed to perform. We recently surveyed some of our members to find out which acts they would like to see, and Three of a Kind was one of their top choices. It's a great opportunity for them to see performers that inspire them plus have the chance to perform with them."

This event is in partnership with South Wales Police and the Community Safety Partnership, which is funding the event.

MC Tipster credits their success to their innovative style: "When we recorded Babycakes we thought it'd make or break us, so we gave it an up-tempo beat and revamped garage."
