ON Tuesday, September 21, the year 7 pupils at Bryn Hafren organised a coffee morning and cake break in aid of the Ty Hafan children's hospice.
All of the year 7 classes brought in cakes and biscuits, many made by the pupils themselves, in order to raise money towards the organisation's Butterfly Appeal. Ty Hafan use the butterfly symbol as it represents the short yet beautiful lives of the children they care for.
There was an abundance of refreshments, not to mention energy, excitement and overwhelming generosity, which meant that the event was a very positive and successful venture for all the girls involved.
Butterfly hairslides were also sold throughout the day which helped add to our grand total of £210.
A spokesman said: "Ty Hafan is the chosen charity for the current year 7 pupils and they shall be holding many more events to raise money for this worthy cause throughout the year.
"A huge thanks to everyone - staff and pupils - for their support and look out for the next venture coming up soon."
