Party plan

IN AUGUST 2001, delighted with the news that Centros Miller's redevelopment plans were to be dropped, Barry Citizens' Action Group gathered in Central Park to express their support for the Vale Council's initiative.

After 16 years of campaigning, our vision for the town centre was to take shape. Someone suggested having a 'Party In The Park' to celebrate.

Works on the town hall and Central Park were forecast to be completed by January 2006. We have now been given to understand that the completion date will probably be later than expected.

We look forward to the day when work recommences, providing evidence that we are heading towards an eventual 'Party In The Park.'
