Freedoms

I have working-class roots based in Barry where my family have lived for more than 150 years.

I never want to participate in fox hunting but have great respect for the traditions of Wales and the United Kingdom and the right of law-abiding citizens to use his free time as he or she thinks fit. I most of all respect democracy and the freedoms of the individual in this country. Where have liberty, independence and tolerance gone?

I abhor the narrow-mindedness of the left-wing urban elite who have again have voted to ban fox hunting in this country. As many - if not more - working-class people will lose their jobs as the 'toffs,' if fox hunting is banned.

I wonder why the abortion of many healthy babies for nothing more than inconvenience fails to raise as much passion in modern society; as the life of a foetus surely outweighs the life of the selfish carnivorous animal - the fox.

If our democracy and freedoms are eroded any more, I think I will up and leave for a tolerant and fair society like Canada.
