Festival's two days of fun in the sun

THOUSANDS of people enjoyed the two days of Barry Waterfront Festival, which was blessed with good weather.

Barry Yatch Club Regatta was held and the RAF Falcon Parachute Display Team skydived in to the event.

There was lots to do for families, such as the Norman Sayers fairground, various bands playing and plenty of activities on each day.

The Splott Brothers entertained the crowds and Barry's very own 13-year-old Chloe Cooke performed the debut of one of her own compositions.

Tall ship Stavros S Niarchos, a 60-metre square-rigged ship, came into harbour after a 10-day voyage from Spain. And Thomas the Tank Engine came to town for the children and there were cooking demonstrations of local produce.

Bands performing were girl-band Dragonheart, Welsh Celtic band Mabon, Sugarhouse and Purple Hearts, to name but a few.

The weekend went well with hundreds of people taking in the sun on Sunday and enjoying the party atmosphere at the Waterfront celebration.
