Filthy way in to club

SIR - COWES, St Tropez and Barry all have yacht clubs, but Barry must have the filthiest approach of all. Yet again Battery Hill from the Triangle, Barry Island, down into the Dock is strewn with litter, pieces of wood, broken office chairs, a three seater sofa (in the hedge) and other adornments.

Why don't the Yacht Club members gather a group of say 10 together with a van one Sunday morning.

Ten minutes work could then clear the junk. Don't they feel any shame at the sight greeting visitors or their own families. If not the members, then why don't the Council of ABP regularly clear this disgrace.

This is the second time I have written on this subject in the last six months. After the first letter action was taken but the appalling situation has returned. Don't Barry people have any pride?

A CCTV camera at the top of the hill would show who is perpetrating this environmental crime.
