FRIENDS of the Barry man found dead in a High Street flat have spoken about the loss of a warm and loving person.
The body of 32-year-old Jason George Evans was discovered on Sunday, August 29, and police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
It is believed he had been dead for some time.
Former housemate Jane Simpson told the News that many people cared about Jason, who was a warm and loving man, easy to get along with and had lots of friends.
The Glyndwr Road resident said: "I have known Jason, or Evo as he was known, for about 14 years.
"We shared a house when I had trouble paying my rent one time. We are all part of a big group and so many people are going to miss him."
Apart from in 1997 when Jane, he and a few other friends moved to Glastonbury for a year, Jason lived all his life in Barry.
Jane, 34, added: "This has come as such a shock to us all. The last time I saw him, on Thursday, August 19, just before I went away for the weekend, he was the same as always. He was the life and soul of the party - a bit of a practical joker, everyone's friend.
"He had so many friends that we all thought he was with other people. I think that was probably why Jason wasn't found sooner."
Jason's sister Charlotte has been devastated by her brother's death. She spoke to the News but was too upset to comment.
Barry police, who cordoned off the area around the flat where Jason was found, are still investigating the death. The coroner has been informed but it is not yet known when the funeral will take place.
Police are appealing for people with any information about the circumstances leading to Jason's death to contact them on 01446 734451.
