Vandalism

IN MAY I wrote a letter about the damage being done to Watchtower by youngsters. The windows have been broken and the wooden doors which secured the building have been removed, leaving an unlocked metal shutter, which on a number of occasions has been raised, allowing groups of youngsters to enter and light fires inside.

The cloakrooms/toilets at the Knap have also been entered and are being used by youngsters.

Boarding up the entrances or having these and the Watchtower placed on the security patrol list would stop a lot of the vandalism that is now taking place - or is it part of the Council's policy not to spend money on the maintenance of Council-owned buildings in the area to enable them to be demolished?
