Driven mad

MAY I appeal to the driving schools of Barry and the surrounding areas to give our road a wide berth for the foreseeable future.

We live on what used to be a quiet road off the main Port Road, in Barry. We have always had driving schools using the road and it was not a problem until recently.

We can have as many as four cars in the road at one time, and they spend so long queuing to reverse around parked cars that they hold up the normal traffic.

They can start around 8am and you can still see them at 9pm, seven days a week.

The worst thing is the emergency stops. You never know if it involves one of the children living in the road.

My neighbour has written to the Driving Standards Agency but we are still waiting to hear back.

I can't speak for everybody on our road but Barry is a big place, and I am sure they could find other quiet roads to teach their pupils, and give us a rest for a while
