First-time festival held in the High Street

BARRY turned out in force last weekend to take part in the first High Street Festival.

Kicking off the Carnival Week in a blaze of colour and entertainment, there was something to do for everyone.

From browsing the many and varied stalls to enjoying the thrill of the bouncy slide...

...or just taking in the community spirit.

The Barry and District News photographer Glyn Paul was on hand to capture the mood of the day.

From all the stalls on offer...

...selling everything from books to soft toys.

To the street entertainers, bringing live music...

...to miles of smiles from the children enjoying the day.

The community spirit was felt by everyone...

...as traders say a big thank you to their staff

Remember, all the pictures on these pages can be ordered from the Barry and District News office, 156, Holton Road, Barry, CF63 4TY.

Starting at just £6, you will have a full colour glossy image to bring back those happy memories.
