BARRY Carnival Week has once again reached its conclusion with the traditional celebration at Romilly Park.
The 2004 festival began with a raft race on the Knap boating lake on Sunday, July 25.
On Monday July 26 there was a pavement artist competition and on the Wednesday there was a 'Come and Try Day' at Barry Leisure Centre.
Romilly Park was the next venue for the events organised by the carnival committee - the Teddy Bears picnic proved a great success.
Saturday, July 31, saw the culmination of the week with a fun day, again at Romilly Park, which included stalls, bouncy castles, the judging of the floats and a sing-song by Billboard Ensemble.
On Monday there was a lot of dressing-up to be judged and on Tuesday the 'Barry Island Day' began with the sandcastle competition.
All prizes will be presented at a special night at the Masonic Hall in September.
Gibbonsdown Children's Centre were the only float to make the trip to Romilly Park and are regulars in the event each year.
