THIS week we asked Penarthians what they thought of the changes to the postal service introduced for Penarth's CF64 postcode area on July 12.
The old system of first and second post has now been replaced by a single delivery.
Pam Eastwood, 73, of Field View Close, said: "Today we didn't get our post until 12.15 whereas it used to come at around 8am."
Marilyn Lewis, 58, of Purcell Road, who works for the Source, a Penarth insurance software company, said: "We never really had a second post before anyway. Now the post comes late afternoon but that doesn't really bother me.
"I spent 14 years living in California and I think by comparison the Royal Mail provides an excellent service. I also have to say we have a great postman!"
Jean Perkins, 75, of Hawthorne Avenue, said: "Since the changeover I can't really say I've noticed any difference in when we get our post.
"I'm retired so it doesn't really matter to me what time my mail arrives."
Leslie Starling, 53, of Glebe Street, said: "Our post is definitely coming later in the morning that it used to. We used to get it between 7am and 7.30am now it's more like 9.30am to 10am."
Zenny Saunders, 38, of Wood Street, said: "It's definitely coming later that before but that doesn't really worry me as I rarely get urgent post. But for anyone running a business I can understand why they would be concerned."
Mrs T Harmes, of Stanwell Road, said: "Our mail is coming much later than before. We get it any time between 9am and 12pm now."
Peter James, 79, of Victoria Road, said: "We are now getting our post an hour or two earlier than we used to."
